April to May
Spring
Snowmelt and rain expose slope-to-bay drainage, rivers, shore, roads and building envelopes.
What is spring actually like?
Spring is the strongest water test. Trace melt and stormwater from the Escarpment through grading, culverts, retaining, foundations, rivers and shoreline, then inspect private systems and roads after winter.
Follow water continuously
Map roof, grade, swale, sump, retaining, ditch and outlet.
Look for erosion, sediment, wet crawlspaces, patched cracks and improvised pumping.
Read shore and valley hazards
Observe Beaver River, creeks, wetlands, banks and Georgian Bay during active water conditions.
Compare the site with conservation mapping and prior-season records.
Inspect winter damage
Review road edges, decks, roofs, cladding, stairs and hardscape after freeze-thaw.
Connect observed work to permits, invoices and reserve planning.
